Annual Report

We entered the 39th year of our glorious academic journey. From the humble beginning made in the year 1980, having crossed many memorable milestones today we have blossomed into a Senior Secondary School affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi. The untiring and dedicated efforts of the managing committee and staff have taken us to the towering heights of success and accomplishments.

Our school is managed by Kochulakshmi Tampuratty Educational and Charitable Society. We have strength of over 2500 students, 100 teaching staff and 13 non-teaching staff.Achieving academic excellence along with skills is at the heart of our endeavour as educators. I am happy to share with you the details of the commendable achievements of our students in AISSE and AISSCE 2019.

In AISSCE-2019 XIIth Board Examination our students secured 100% pass. Aggregate topper in science stream was Gokul P.V with 95% mark, Malavika K.M with 94% mark in second position and Vismaya P.P with 93% mark in third position.In the commerce stream the aggregate topper was Fathimathul Safna Zubair with 91% mark, Muhsin C.C with 90% mark in second position and Saranga K.V with 86% mark in third position.

Co-curricular activities and celebrations

We provide ample opportunities to our students to participate and excel in all co-curricular activities and extra-curricular activities.

School level cultural and literacy competitions were conducted in the month of August, First Prize winners of various competitions participated in the Kannur Sahodaya Literary and Cultural competitions. Our students who secured first position and outstanding grade participated in the state Kalolsav conducted on 14th to 17th November 2019 in CMI Christ School, Vazakulam.They are

  • 2. Adwaith Krishna of class X in Bharatanatyam (boys).

Students of our school participated in the District level Yoga competition and our school adjudged the District Yoga Champions. Hearty congrats to all the students who participated and their yoga instructor Ms Sajitha P. Five students participated in the State Level Yoga competition and Pournami Mahesh of class X qualified for participating in the National Level Competition.

Kannur Sahodaya Athletic meet was conducted on 22nd and 23rd November 2019 in KAP Battalion ground, Mangatuparamba. Our students participated with fervour and enthusiasm and bagged prestigious position. Liya T of class VI participated in sub junior girls long jump competition and got 1st prize.

Aman Muhamed of class VI got 3rd position in sub junior boys 100mts running race and Tejus Praveen of class X got 3rd position in inter boys 100mts running race.

We celebrate all calendar events in a befitting manner. Environment Day was celebrated on 6th June which was the reopening day of this academic year. International Yoga day was celebrated on 21st June with a colorful musical yoga performance choreographed by Sachitha P our Yoga Instructor. Students of senior classes performed simple yoga exercises and ‘Surya Namaskar’ in the morning assembly. In connection with the Fit India Movement students performed yoga exercise in the school during the assembly.

In connection with the observance of reading week , reading competitions and Quiz competitions were conducted. Importance of developing reading as hobby was made aware to the students in the speeches given in the morning assembly.

Independence Day was celebrated in our school with patriotic fervour. Special assembly was convened and the National Flag was hoisted. Teachers Day was celebrated on 5th September with great enthusiasm. It was a funfilled day for both teachers and students. Onam celebration was on 7th September. Students enjoyed a variety of games and competitions and winners were given prize in the school assembly.

On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi a special assembly was convened on October 2nd and the students of the senior classes cleaned the school premises. Students were made aware of the importance of keeping our surrounding clean and to reduce the use of plastic. On children’s day students of classes I to VII staged a variety programme to make the day colorful and memorable.

An awareness class was conducted for the girls of class VI by child line and RED FM radio to make them aware of Good touch and bad touch.

Experimental learning through club activities are given to our students. We believe that extra-curricular activities greatly enrich the school experience of our students and help them gain life skills. Various clubs like Eco club, Science club, Literary club and Health and wellness club help the students to acquire the skills they need in their future life.

Eco club members conducted various awareness programmes about the hazards of using plastic and motivated the students to ban plastic in school and at home. Eco club members distributed cloth bags to the houses in the neighborhood to make the public aware of reducing the use of plastic carry bags a part of Sewa activity students collected money and donated to one heart patient and poor family in the neighbour. Remaining amount will be given to an orphanage.


Teacher Empowerment programmes

To face the challeges of the changing the scenario of education teachers should update themselves continuously. All subject teachers of our school attended two days capacity building programme on classroom management conducted by Centre of Excellence, Kochi. Malayalam teachers Divya K and Jithina Vijayan attended a workshop conducted by Kannur Sahodaya on Methadology in Malayalam on 4th and 5th October.

A workshop on Scholastic Backwardness, Identification Strategies and Intervention techniques was attended by our English teacher Mitha S. A workshop on effective Teaching of Grammar in Hindi was attended by two Hindi Teachers Prathiba P.V and Bindu K. a workshop was conducted for all our KG Teachers by T.B.S on July 27th.

Class wise PTA meeting is conducted after each examination to give the parents an opportunity to meet the teachers and know the progress of their wards. On this occasion I would like to acknowledge with gratitude the contribution and support given by the parent to this institution. We value your suggestions and advice and seek your understanding co-operation.

Before I conclude this report I wish to express our most sincere gratitude to the members of the managing committee and Director Sir for the vision, support and valuable guidance for the efficient functioning of the school. On this occasion we also remember with gratitude everyone of there who walked with us, every student, every parent, every teacher, every non-teaching staff who has played a vital role in all our achievement.
