HPV VACCINATION AWARENESS PROGRAMME AND VACCINATION DRIVE

Kasturba Public School, in association with the Chirakkal Primary Health Centre, organized an HPV (Human Papillomavirus) Vaccination Awareness Programme for girl students aged 14 years and above on 12 June 2026. The programme was conducted under the leadership of the Malayala Manorama Nallapadam Club with the objective of creating awareness about the importance of HPV vaccination and promoting preventive healthcare among students. The programme was presided over by Principal Dr. Shaji Alungal Joseph. Mrs. C. P. Thresya, Health Inspector, inaugurated the session. Dr. Fathima Sana Siddique led the awareness class and provided detailed information about HPV infection, the significance of vaccination, its benefits, and the importance of early prevention. The session helped students understand the importance of the HPV vaccine and addressed various concerns and misconceptions regarding vaccination. The interactive class enabled students to gain valuable knowledge about maintaining good health and preventing HPV-related diseases. Following the awareness programme, an HPV vaccination drive was conducted on 18 June 2026, during which eligible girl students received the HPV vaccine under the supervision of the medical team from Chirakkal Primary Health Centre. The vaccination programme was carried out successfully, ensuring the safety and well-being of all participating students. Junior Public Health Nurses T. Anagha, A. T. Sajini, and K. R. Ranjini attended the programme. Teachers M. Sini, C. Beena, K. Sheeba, Nimna, Prasheeja, Lohithakshan, and IT Coordinator Shanoj extended their support and guidance for the successful conduct of both the awareness session and the vaccination drive. The programme proved to be highly informative and beneficial, equipping students with essential knowledge about HPV vaccination and encouraging them to take proactive steps towards safeguarding their health.
