Swachhata Hi Sewa- 2024 Campaign
As a prelude to Swachh Bharat Divas- 2024, the annual Swachhata Hi Seva fortnight is being jointly organised by Department of Drinking water and sanitation, Ministry of Jal shakti and Ministry of Housing and Urban affairs 14th September to 2nd October. The theme of Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 is ‘Swabhav Swachhata- Sanskar Swachhata’ with focus on cleaning of dirty and difficult garbage spots, recognise the contribution of sanitation workers, celebrate the achievements over the past decade and also reaffirm our commitment to Sampoorna Swachhata.
Kasturba Public School celebrated the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign in a variety of meaningful ways. The event emphasised cleanliness and community service, encouraging both students and staff to contribute to the cleanliness drive.
Some of the activities included are;
Awareness programme: On 27th September, a special assembly was conducted for the students of 8th to 10th grade to educate the students about the importance of cleanliness, hygiene and waste management. School Principal Mrs. Malini S V addressed the students with an inspiring message. She emphasised the importance of cleanliness, not only in the school but also in their homes and communities. She also spoke about the role of young minds in shaping the future of the nation, encouraging them to active participants in the Swachh Bharat Mission.
Rally: As a part of Swachhata Hi Seva initiative, Kasturba Public School organized a rally (27th September) to raise awareness about cleanliness and hygiene. The rally saw enthusiastic participation from students, teachers and staff holding placards and banners with slogans promoting cleanliness, environmental protection and the importance of maintaining a clean society.
Cleanliness drive (28th September): The students and staff of Kasturba Public School took a proactive step by cleaning an area of Chirakkal Chira, a local water body. The activity aimed to contribute to environmental conservation and raise awareness about the importance of keeping public spaces clean. Armed with cleaning tools, gloves and determination the participants removed waste, plastic and other debris from the area ensuring the surroundings were left spotless. The initiative highlighted the school’s commitment to environmental protection and gave students a hands-on experience in community service, aligning with the principles of the Swachh Bharat Mission.
