INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY AND MUSIC DAY CELEBRATION 2026
Kasturba Public School celebrated International Yoga Day and International Music Day with great enthusiasm on 19 June 2026. As both observances fall on 21 June, the celebrations were conducted in advance at the school’s A Block Ground. The programme highlighted the importance of yoga for a healthy lifestyle and music as a universal language that inspires and unites people.
The Yoga Day celebration commenced with a classical song presented by Advika of Class 5, creating a serene and pleasant atmosphere. This was followed by a captivating yoga dance performed by students. Ameya V.V. of Class 8 delivered an informative speech on the significance of yoga and its benefits for physical and mental well-being. The celebration concluded with a mass yoga session in which students participated enthusiastically, demonstrating various yoga postures and breathing techniques.
Following the Yoga Day programme, the school celebrated International Music Day with a variety of musical performances. The programme began with a violin performance by Sanskriti of LKG and Nainika Biju of Class 6, followed by a keyboard recital by Ramanunni of Class 12. A violin presentation by Ms Rajashree added elegance to the occasion and was highly appreciated by the audience.
Mariam Shameem of Class 12 delivered a speech highlighting the importance of music in everyday life and its role in promoting creativity, harmony, and emotional well-being. The audience was then treated to a beautiful duet song presented by Ms Chandni and Prasen Raj of Class 12. This was followed by a melodious cinematic song rendered by our office staff member, Ms Shonima, which was warmly appreciated by the audience. The Music Day celebration concluded on a delightful note, leaving the audience entertained and inspired.
Principal Dr. Shaji Alungal Joseph, Vice Principal Sheeba Miss, teachers, non-teaching staff, and students attended the celebration. The programme was well-organized and received an enthusiastic response from all participants. The combined celebration of Yoga Day and Music Day was a grand success, spreading messages of health, harmony, creativity, and well-being among students.
