MOTIVATIONAL SESSION FOR PARENTS
A motivational session for the parents of students from Grades IX to XII was conducted on 1 August 2026 at 10:00 a.m. The session focused on the importance of mental health and the role of parents in supporting the emotional and psychological well-being of adolescents.
The programme began with a welcome address by Shilna Miss, who warmly welcomed the Principal, Vice Principal, and all the parents present for the session. The Principal inaugurated the programme and highlighted the importance of mental health in the overall development of students. The Principal emphasised that emotional well-being is as important as academic achievement and that parents play a vital role in creating a supportive home environment.
The Vice Principal addressed the gathering and spoke about the challenges faced by students during adolescence, particularly those related to academic pressure, examinations, peer relationships, and expectations about the future. The importance of understanding students' emotions, listening to their concerns, and offering encouragement rather than unnecessary pressure was highlighted.
The session emphasised the need for open communication between parents and children. Parents were encouraged to spend quality time with their children, recognise changes in their behaviour, respect their feelings, and create a safe and positive atmosphere at home. The importance of balancing academic expectations with adequate rest, recreation, and emotional support was also discussed.
An interactive session was organised to encourage parents to share their concerns, experiences, and suggestions regarding their children's mental health and academic life. Parents actively participated in the discussion, and their questions and concerns were addressed. The interaction provided an opportunity to exchange ideas and develop a better understanding of the emotional needs of adolescents.
The programme highlighted that mental health is an essential part of a student's overall well-being and that parents and teachers must work together to support students during this important stage of life.
The session concluded with a renewed understanding of the importance of parental support, empathy, and communication in promoting positive mental health among students of Grades IX to XII. The programme was informative and meaningful, reinforcing the message that mental health matters and every child deserves understanding, encouragement, and care.
